The tragic news was confirmed by SP Moses Yamu, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, during a press briefing in Benin City on Sunday, October 28. He expressed deep concern over the violent act, stating, “We are meeting with community leaders on this unfortunate incident while tactical teams have been deployed to comb the crime scene and its surroundings for possible arrest of the suspects.”

The Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) from neighboring jurisdictions have been alerted to be on the lookout for the suspects involved. SP Yamu urged members of the public to assist the police by providing any information that could lead to the capture of those responsible for this heinous crime.
